What Makes a Boho Quilt?

To understand what makes a boho quilt, we first should figure out what boho means. I’m not going to dive into a long explanation of the origins of the bohemian lifestyle, but I will give a brief description in case you are curious.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a bohemian as “a person (such as a writer or artist) living an unconventional life, usually in a colony with others.” Now, how does that translate into a quilt pattern? Haha!

I will give you my opinion. A bohemian quilt pattern is a pattern that doesn’t follow the “traditional” shapes, piecing methods, or design construction of a traditional quilt pattern. Modern quilt patterns are becoming more popular, and many have an undeniable boho-inspired design. 

I personally am a massive fan of bohemian design, and I relate to the dictionary’s definition of a bohemian individual. As a content creator, I am a modern-day writer and artist, and I choose not to live a conventional lifestyle. I think that’s why so many of these boho quilt patterns speak to me.
